Shuckin' Shack Restaurant Franchise Joins International Franchise Association

Despite having been founded in 2007, Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar is still fairly new when it comes to franchising.  We began actively franchising in 2014 and started opening our first franchise locations in Summerville, SC and Surf City, NC in 2015.  While we look to open restaurant #13 within two weeks in Leland, we are on track to close out 2018 with at least 20 restaurant locations!  Even with these impressive achievements, in our industry, we are still considered an "emerging" franchise.

To learn more about the one trillion dollar franchise industry, the Shuckin' Shack CEO, Jonathan Weathington, led the charge for Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar to become a member of the International Franchise Association (IFA).  Speaking by phone from Phoenix while attending his first IFA Convention, Jonathan stated "It's easy for us to preach the importance of continuing education to our franchisees and their staff, but when it comes down to it, we are always wanting to improve our systems and are anxious to avoid some pitfalls that we've encountered already".

Founded in 1960, the IFA has grown to become the world's oldest and largest organization representing 733,000 franchise establishments worldwide.  Beyond hosting educational expos and conventions for franchise companies, franchisees and suppliers to the franchise industry, the IFA is also actively involved with government agencies representing and lobbying to advance the franchise industry, especially within the United States. Shuckin' Shack's membership within the IFA is something that our entire team is proud of and is an important step that will help separate our restaurant franchise from so many other opportunities available in the Southeast.

Shuckin' Shack is targeting restaurant expansion for Columbia, South Carolina in 2018! If you or someone you know has an interest in bringing "The Shack" to the thousands of sports and seafood fans in Columbia, please provide your contact details on this page to learn more!

IFA Round Table Discussions sometimes lead to table "debates" that draw an audience!
