Little River South Carolina Franchisees Begin Phase 2 Training

While it has been eight months since we introduced the Bryan family, our new franchisees for Little River, they have been very busy since the Fall of 2017! Shortly after they signed our franchise agreement, they also signed a lease for a build-to-suit space for their new restaurant.  The brand new location will be on the Intracoastal Waterway, near the Grande Harbour Marina in Little River.  Since lease signing, they've had a succession of meetings with architects, general contractors and our own operations team to help them with the design and layout of their Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar.  Take one minute to watch the fly-thru architect video below!

While the Bryan family have a successful history of business ownership, they are still required to learn how things are done at "The Shack".  They are currently in the midst of phase two training, as part of the five phases of Shuckin' Shack University training - also known as "Shuck U".  Our five phases of franchisee training include:

Phase 1 - Introduction to the Shuckin' Shack (Min. 24 Hours Training On-Site in Wilmington Headquarters).

Phase 2 - Online Education (Min. 40 hours on HR, Accounting & Sales via online portal & calls).

Phase 3 - Shuck U at HQ (Min. 40 hours on FOH and BOH operations and Customer service).

Phase 4 - On-site Live Restaurant (Min. 40 hours of hands-on with all staff and all system).

Phase 5 - Continuing Education (According to the terms of our franchise agreement, all franchisees are required to a maintain a minimum number C.E. hours annually).

While we have established the minimum hours above, completed training time does depend upon the past experience of our franchisees, their managers and employed staff.  In most cases, training time of a new franchisee is likely to run from 150 to 200 hours before a new restaurant actually opens for business.  That's why "Shuck U" is no laughing matter - just ask the Bryan family!

While this Little River location will join other South Carolina Shuckin' Shacks, in Summerville and Greenville, we still have many other restaurant opportunities in the state.  One of our target markets for 2018 is Columbia, SC!  If you or someone you know is serious about owning a seafood restaurant and sports pub in Columbia, please share the link to this special opportunities page!
