Lease Signed for Shuckin' Shack of Jacksonville, NC

It probably has something to do with the fact that our first restaurant was founded a decade ago in the tiny tourist town of Carolina Beach.  Or maybe it's because our second Oyster Bar, opened in 2012 in Wilmington - a town frequented by tourists.  Whatever it is, most franchise candidates seem surprised when we tell them that we really want good locations in solid local neighborhoods.  We will always warmly welcome tourists, as we have for years, but when it comes to selecting an ideal restaurant location, we always target locals residents.

So it will come as little surprise to discover that, as another new Shuckin' Shack prepares to open in 2018, it will not be where the millions of Jacksonville tourists are, but where the residents of this major city eat, live and sleep. Just a few months ago we provided an interview with our Jacksonville franchisee, Ray Rubin, who has been working diligently to secure a lease for his ideal location. Last week we received word that the paperwork is completed and the architects have started!

While it will take some time to build out, Jacksonville residents can look forward to a 2,000 square foot Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar & Sports Pub of their very own within the Lowes Food Center at 2421 Gum Brand Road in Jacksonville later this year.  As Ray makes progress with an army of contractors, look for photos and video to be posted here.  Soon we'll also post a link to the Facebook page for this restaurant that will be published in time for hiring new staff and preparing the public for "The Shack" grand opening!
