We know that 2018 will be a great year for the Shuckin' Shack Restaurant Franchise when we sign a brand new franchisee within the first 10 days of the new year! Congratulations are in order for Mr. Ray Rubin who is a current resident of Jacksonville, NC and a major fan of "The Shack". Last year Ray attended one of our monthly Discovery Days to meet our staff and understand all the advantages of opening a Shuckin' Shack versus starting something on his own. Despite a long history of experience within the restaurant industry, Ray decided that a proven concept with an emerging brand would provide better returns in the long run. With a signed franchise agreement, we take the next step in our franchise development process: Site Selection. We begin by providing Ray with our proprietary "Treasure Map" of the Jacksonville, NC market. These maps contain many layers of information that include a zip code breakdown of population, median household income and competitors plotted on maps, with supporting spreadsheets that include details relevant to selection a location. With his Jacksonville, NC Treasure Map in hand, Site Selection continues as follows:

1. Franchisee submits three possible sites that meet size criteria & Treasure Map targeting.

2. Trademark Properties contributes additional options via commercial broker networking & in-depth listings search.

3. Shuckin' Shack support team puts "boots on the ground" for on-site review and may provide additional options depending on preliminary results.

The Site Selection process may take two weeks, two months or two years depending on each market and the opportunities available. So while we might hope to see a Jacksonville, NC location open this year, we realize finding Ray the right restaurant site is more important that getting a location opened quickly.
