Last week Shuckin' Shack Co-Founder, Matt Piccinin, and CEO, Jonathan Weathington, took a road trip to Statesboro to meet with our first franchisee for the state of Georgia. For those unfamiliar with the area, Statesboro is a beautiful city with over 30,000 residents, an hour northwest of Savannah, and home to Georgia Southern University. Our franchisee has secured a location within a soon-to-be constructed mixed-use center that will include office spaces, retail units and fresh new restaurants - featuring a brand new freestanding Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar & Sports Pub! We are excited about this first of three Shuckin' Shack restaurants this multi-unit franchisee will operate, in addition to other restaurant franchises they own.
Time was well spent reviewing and revising the final blueprints for our very first stand-alone restaurant building, as groundbreaking happens this week and delivery of the raw restaurant should happen early this Summer.
