With a dozen locations operating across the Southeast, and eight more set for opening in 2018, the Shuckin' Shack seafood restaurant franchise is now researching new target markets for the Midwest. While establishing success a decade ago as a popular tourist restaurant in Carolina Beach, NC, over the past few years 'The Shack' has found more consistent, year-round success as a neighborhood pub where locals go for fresh seafood and cold craft beers while enjoying sporting events with neighbors, friends and family. The time is now right to bring our relaxed, coastal feel inland!
Shuckin' Shack Co-Founder, Matt Piccinin, stated this week, "Over the past five years we have proven ourselves against the toughest seafood competitors along the Atlantic seaboard, so we see many markets in the Midwest as ideal for our simple and affordable restaurant model." Piccinin concluded by saying, "Many Midwestern markets have seafood options that are either fast food or luxury dining restaurants with very little in the middle that creates the cozy, local sports pub experience that Shuckin' Shack has successfully established."
While intensive demographic research continues, with food vendors being interviewed and approved, we will be announcing a handful of specific Midwestern target markets in early April 2018. Each new Midwestern target market will be a multi-unit franchise opportunity requiring new franchisees to commit to establishing at least three restaurants over a period of two to three years. Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar & Sports Pub currently has multi-unit franchisees in Raleigh-Durham, NC, within the Charleston, SC market and within the Baltimore, MD MSA. The Shuckin' Shack Restaurant Franchise is a new member of the IFA (International Franchise Association) and is also listed on the Small Business Administration Registry as a SBA approved franchise model making business financing easier and more accessible for prospective franchisees.
